RFI transitions to SMA (M) connectors in CD7100 series antenna kits

Manufacturing shot of RFI antennas

RFI has begun transitioning towards SMA male connectors in our CD7100 series antenna kits

From Monday, July 19th, 2021, all Cel-FI kits bundled with a CD7100 series antenna will no longer contain an A-88 adaptor as the antenna will come fitted with an SMA (M) connector.

The kits containing CDR7100 and CDQ7100 antennas will follow suit in September.

Why is RFI transitioning towards the SMA male connector?

The Cel-Fi GO uses an SMA connector as its native connector while the RFI CD7100 series antenna series traditionally came with an FME connector, meaning an adaptor was required to connect the two.

The transition sees the CD7100 series antenna connect directly to the Cel-Fi GO unit without the need for an adaptor.

With one less component required, the SMA male connector offers improved reliability due to a reduced risk of damage due to strain or loose connectors.
